Glassmark Support

1. Open the Glassmark app on your Mac.
2. Choose Enable in Safari.
3. In Safari → Settings → Extensions, enable Glassmark and allow access to the websites you want to highlight.
4. Reload a supported webpage, click Glassmark in Safari, and choose Open toolbar.

Safari remembers an enabled, properly installed extension. The Glassmark app can be closed after setup. The toolbar opens when you ask for it.

Choose Highlighter to draw over a webpage. Hold still at the endpoint for about two-thirds of a second to straighten a stroke. Choose Text note (T) and click a highlight to add a thought. Confirm with Save note. Hover over the highlight or its note indicator to read it again.

Browse mode or Escape returns normal website interaction. Use Edit highlight to change an existing mark’s colour, thickness or opacity.

Annotations and drafts save in Safari’s local extension storage. Revisit the same page address to see them again. The library lists your annotated pages and attached notes.

Clearing extension storage, uninstalling, changing browser profiles or changing signing identities during development can affect access to local data. Use Library → Back up highlights to keep a separate copy.

Sign into iCloud on each Mac. In Glassmark’s library, enable iCloud sync and choose Sync now. Check the displayed status. Repeat on other participating Macs using the same iCloud account.

Sync is off by default. Local work remains available offline. Turning sync off stops future sync attempts and does not erase copies already in iCloud. If a sync error appears, check iCloud sign-in, storage availability and your network, then try Sync now again.

Open Library → Recently Deleted. Find the page, highlight or note and choose Restore. Recovery copies remain until you delete them permanently. Deleting a note keeps its highlight.

Recently Deleted is part of the extension’s data, so it is not a substitute for an external backup.

Choose Export visible page or Export full page in toolbar settings. Exports include captured website content, highlights, numbered references and full confirmed notes. Drafts are not exported. Longer notes and full-page sections can use additional PDF pages.

Dynamic pages, horizontal scrolling or very long documents may prevent full-page capture. Try the visible-page option. If one PNG would be too large, choose PDF.

Websites can insert, remove or rearrange content. Glassmark attempts to keep marks attached to nearby elements, but large layout changes can affect alignment. Refresh after the page finishes loading, check that you are on the same address, and use the library to find your saved note text.

Toggle Dark mode in the toolbar settings, popup, library or export screen. Glassmark remembers the choice. Highlight colours and the website’s own appearance stay unchanged. This website has its own separate appearance toggle.
