This policy explains how Glassmark handles information when you use the Safari extension, its Mac app and this support website. Contact: glassmarkapp@gmail.com.
What Glassmark saves locally
Glassmark stores highlight geometry, colours, notes, unfinished drafts, page titles and addresses, editing preferences and recovery copies in Safari extension storage on your Mac. These records let the app restore your annotations when you revisit a page.
Glassmark does not require a separate Glassmark account. The current app contains no advertising or analytics and does not send annotations to a developer-operated server.
Optional iCloud sync
Sync is off by default. If you enable it, saved page records, highlight geometry, notes, drafts and Recently Deleted recovery items are sent to your private CloudKit database in your Apple iCloud account. Participating Macs signed into the same iCloud account can sync those records.
Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy information. Your iCloud sign-in, available storage and network affect whether sync completes. Local annotations remain available offline. Turning sync off stops future sync attempts; it does not delete records already stored in iCloud.
Small revision and deletion records prevent another device from restoring content you deleted. Displaced page versions may be retained in Recently Deleted so you can recover them.
Website access and exports
Website permissions let Glassmark place its toolbar and annotation layer on supported pages, associate marks with nearby content and restore saved annotations. Captures are made when you choose an export.
Full-page export temporarily scrolls the page and hides repeated fixed elements, then restores the page position and styles. Captures enter local extension storage while the export screen opens and are removed after it reads them. Failed or interrupted exports can leave temporary capture records until extension data is cleared.
PNG, PDF and backup files stay wherever you save them. They can contain website content, page addresses and private notes. Sharing those files shares their contents with the recipient.
Deleting and recovering information
Deleted pages, highlights and notes go to Recently Deleted and remain recoverable until you choose Delete permanently. Restore preserves newer content if it encounters a conflict. With iCloud sync enabled, changes to these records sync to other participating Macs.
Clearing extension data, uninstalling or losing the browser profile can remove local work. Keep external backups of important annotations. Turning sync off is separate from deleting iCloud data.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any files you choose to send. We use them to respond, troubleshoot and maintain support records. Email is handled by the email service provider. Do not include information you do not want support to receive. Contact us about deleting support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
This website
This support site has no advertising, analytics, contact form or embedded tracking service. If you use its appearance toggle, it saves that preference in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it in your browser settings. The hosting provider may process technical request information to serve, secure and operate these pages.
